Ask about soil and wind before you sign. Caliche and hard ground are common in West Texas and the Panhandle, and digging through them adds cost. Wind carries dust into an open pool, and winter freezes are hard enough to damage exposed equipment, so ask how the builder plans the equipment pad and the freeze protection.

Think about financing and warranty while you compare. Lone Star Luxury Pools offers financing. Texas Blue Lake Pools attaches warranties, so ask each one what the warranty covers: structure, finish, equipment and workmanship. Cole Landscaping & Pools and Texas Blue Lake Pools also remodel and resurface, so either can look after the pool after it is built.

A few track records stand out. Texas Blue Lake Pools has worked in the area since 1955 and is rated 4.0 from 71 reviews. Cole Landscaping & Pools is rated 4.9 from 41 and Lone Star Luxury Pools 5.0 from 8.
